Our mission will be to bring truth, transparency, and integrity back to reporting and provide a local resident issue focused resource for Boulder City. As BCG grows and gets built out we want to make important Boulder City information easy to find so links and credit to other content providers will be normal here. Residents will be able to submit Opinion articles, Hard (factual) Local Reporting, and Fun Boulder City Stories along with pictures and stories about neighborhood activities.
All published content will always be credited to its creator, the main requirement for contributions will be Boulder City Residency. For far too long the residents of Boulder City have had to rely on skewed sources for information regarding the decisions being made by our city officials. Residents also face ridicule, censorship, and cancellation from social media moderators on local sites and algorithms from the larger ones. Sometimes important facts are left out or ignored to fit a specific narrative or agenda in our local and national media outlets.
Boulder City Gazette will be dedicated supporters of the United States Constitution with a focus on freedom of speech, the rights and interests of Boulder City Residents, and providing courteous public discourse and discussions for our local citizens. We will not censor what is published but we will not publish everything that is submitted. All publishing will be decided by the editorial board.
Although our city is very small often times one side of town is very unaware of what is going on in the other side. Things that seem small, trivial, or inconsequential in the moment or in an area of town actually have much larger ramifications down the road. The residents of Boulder City often find out information after the city has made decisions on projects, rules, and laws and it is time for that to change.
We will focus on the issues, politicians, city officials and commissions, non profit organizations, lobbyists and people that affect and shape our beautiful and historic community. Transparency and Sunlight are things of beauty and Boulder City is long overdue for more of both. BCG will strive to be a good servant to our community needs and listen and act on resident input to make Boulder City the best it can be for everyone.
So with all of these lofty ideals and goals that we have laid out we hope our little city residents will participate, get involved and contribute content to this brand new information hub specifically built for the people of Boulder City. Don’t be afraid to make your voices heard here, we will protect identities of those who chose to be anonymous. We look forward to turning Boulder City Gazette into something very special and enhance every resident and visitors experience in this great historic city.
